Huddersfield Town expecting to hold on to Wells

Huddersfield Town Coach David Wagner has denied rumours that top scorer Nakhi Wells could make a January move to Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to The Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

The 25 year old Bermuda born striker has been in good goalscoring form for The Terriers having scored 10 goals for the club so far this season after his goal in Tuesday evening’s 5-0 demolition of Charlton Athletic.

The player has been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers after the club lost star striker Benik Afobe to Premier League club AFC Bournemouth earlier this week for a deal worth over £10 million.

Despite rumours linking the striker with a move away from West Yorkshire, Terriers Coach David Wagner has insisted that his key man is not for sale and that the club is under no pressure to sell the forward.

Wells joined Huddersfield Town in January 2014 for an undisclosed fee from Bradford City after a successful spell at Valley Parade which saw the striker win promotion from League 2 and win a League Cup runners up medal. The striker signed a four and a half year deal with The Terriers.

Huddersfield Town may have to reject further interest in the striker with West London clubs Queens Park Rangers and Fulham also understood to be admirers of Wells.
