Leeds United attacker could be in line to start this weekend vs Wigan Athletic

Leeds United attacker Helder Costa could be in line to start this weekend against Wigan Athletic according to HITC.

The winger impressed against Salford City in midweek as he provided two assists in their Carabao Cup as they progressed in the competition.

Manager Marco Bielsa is yet to start Costa in the league, instead being cautious with his fitness in their first two league games of the season.

However, he showed in midweek that he is capable of changing the game with his undoubted quality and he could now be in line to start against the Latics.

Costa didn’t go on their pre-season tour with Bielsa wanting the attacker to stay at the Leeds United training ground and work on his fitness.

Leeds have a game changer who they have committed to paying a lot of money for. He showed he is ready, so now is the time to go all in and pick him from the start.

Costa could be the deciding factor between success and failure this season as Leeds go on the search for automatic promotion. Bielsa rarely insists on any signing but was very keen for director of football Victor Orta to bring the winger to Elland Road.

The league is already showing itself to once again be hugely competitive and it appears that nobody will be running away with the league and if Leeds are looking to make severe inroads in terms of promotion, players such as Costa could offer the pace and trickery which they will need.

A lot of the attacking burden falls on the shoulders of the talented Pablo Hernandez but with Costa in tow the pair of assists on Tuesday evening suggested he is ready to ease the pressure on Hernandez.
