Five potential candidates to replace Jose Gomes at Reading

Reading are looking to bring in a new manager after parting company with Jose Gomes. Here are five potential candidates for the vacant role-

Mark Hughes- He has emerged as the early front runner for the job. The 55-year-old has been available since he was sacked by Southampton in December 2018. He is a vastly experienced manager having previously had spells at Wales, Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham, QPR and Stoke City.

Chris Hughton- The 60-year-old is an option for the Royals but may have reservations over dropping back into the Championship. He was dismissed by Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of last season, having managed the likes of Newcastle United, Birmingham City and Norwich City in the past.
