U18s Lose to Colchester
Tuesday, 30th Mar 2021 16:14

A young Town U18s side were beaten 6-0 by Colchester United at Playford Road this afternoon.

The side coached by Adem Atay and Jason Dozzell had a number of regulars missing in the wake of Saturday's 3-1 FA Youth Cup fourth round victory over Swindon at Portman Road.

The young Blues are now second in Professional Development League Two South, Charlton having gone ahead of them by three points after beating Millwall 2-1 at the weekend, however, with the Addicks having played a game more.

Town: Ridd, McFadden, Stephenson, Knock, Barbrook, Cutbush (c), Bradshaw, Chirewa, Ward, Manly, Bello. Subs: Bort, Moodie, Agbaje, Nwabueze, Osbourne.

Irrespective of a weakened side; that's a shocking result. Feel sorry for the players though...... I've seen Atay on the touch line when they've lost before..... screaming and shouting.
Millwall away recently was a rather embarrassing performance at half time when we were 3 nil down, so this should be special.
Biggest worry though is that he's Assistant Head of Academy.

Dont take too much notice of these results. Very much a experimental team fielded and players rested for more important games ahead. It's all about player development rather than results at youth team level.

We should punish them by making them train with the first team! :-)

Changed team or not - it shouldn't make that difference.
That's an appalling result, and I'll be surprised if Atay isn't seething at that. There shouldn't be that gap at that level.
Maybe we should swap a few with Colchester !!
They'll be thrilled with that result.
